Overview
The UNIGIS Masters of Science (MSc) programme provides an understanding of the conceptual, technical, and organisational aspects of GIScience (GISc). It facilitates career advancement through a postgraduate academic degree. Targeting working professionals, this programme will graduate students qualified as the leaders of a project, a team or a department.
Format
MSc (GISc) is an in-service online distance learning postgraduate course leading to an academic degree. The programme is designed to be completed in two years with a weekly workload of minimum 12 -15 hours.
A total of 120 European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) points are required for completing UNIGIS MSc. The ECTS points assigned to each component of the MSc. Curriculum are given in the ‘Structure’. Participation in residential workshops is strongly encouraged.
Qualification
Upon completion of all the required components of the course, successful students will be awarded the academic degree ‘UNIGIS Master of Science’ (Geographic Information Science & Systems) – MSc (GISc) by the Salzburg University, Austria.
Curriculum
The course is based on a modular structure including compulsory modules, electives, collaborative project, summer schools & workshops etc. and a master thesis.
There is a possibility of interchange among electives, collaborative project, summer schools & workshops etc. depending upon the ECTS points allocated to each component.
