UNIGIS@India is a collaborative initiative of the universities / organisations in India and Centre for GeoInformatics (Z_GIS), Salzburg University, Austria (Europe). It is growing network of educational institutions offering leading distance learning and residential study programmes in GIScience and Systems delivered in English language medium to the GIS professionals worldwide.

UNIGIS@India offers 2 study programmes i.e. UNIGIS Master of Science (UNIGIS MSc) and UNIGIS Professional Diploma (UNIGIS Professional) under the statutory provisions of the Memorandum(s) of Understanding signed with the Centre for Geoinformatics (Z_GIS) within the UNIGIS@Salzburg framework and conforming to the norms and standards of UNIGIS International Association.

The academic qualifications (degrees / diplomas) are awarded by Salzburg University, Austria.
