 Study Environment

What is Provided?

Study/learning materials consist of presentations, graphics, animations, and texts explaining the underlying concepts and their application to solving problems. They are designed to effectively and efficiently aid student knowledge acquisition. The majority of these materials are made available through an e-Learning platform called Blackboard. The adopted approach ensures easy maintenance of the materials and availability of their latest version. In order to keep on-line time reasonable and accommodate for times when an Internet connection is unavailable, an off-line working environment called Blackboard Backpack can be used.

UNIGIS@Noida arranges the required licenses as well as demo, freeware, and shareware. The following licensed products are extensively used in UNIGIS MSc. study programme:

Ø       ArcGIS and extensions (ESRI)

Ø       Geomedia Professional (Intergraph)

Course participants can use various GIS software installed in the GIS Laboratory of UNIGIS@Noida.

If students want to install these software packages on their personal computers / notebooks, these can be made available on nominal costs for use during the period of the course.
