Overview
UNIGIS professional is designed to develop or improve application-oriented skills and provide an understanding of GIS. The course also targets those already engaged in GIS related jobs and/or have some background in a spatial discipline.
Format
This is an in-service online distance learning postgraduate course leading to an academic degree. The programme is designed to be completed in one year with a weekly workload of minimum 12-15 hours.
60 European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) points are awarded for the coursework. Participation in residential workshops is strongly encouraged.
Qualification
Graduates will be awarded a professional diploma certificate by Salzburg University.
Curriculum The UNIGIS professional modular structure includes seven compulsory modules and a choice of one elective subject or project work. The programme content covers acquisition, modelling, and visualisation of geodata; geostatistical and spatial analysis; geoDBMS and application software development.
